“Everybody has their go-to item, and I’m the guy that when I have a hankering, it’s for a really good cookie,” Silva said. “But Albuquerque didn’t have that good go-to cookie spot.”

Silva’s new Rude Boy Cookies combines his love of cookies and milk and his “rude boy” attitude from years of playing in ska and reggae bands into one hip spot at 115 Harvard, near the University of New Mexico.

Silva, who co-owns the ABQ Trolley Co., opened the new shop last week. His said his first big order was for CNM’s launch of the PNM Pop-Up Pavilion, which held its grand opening on Monday.

Silva, though he loves cookies, admits he’s not much of a baker. He brought on CNM graduate Kristin Dowling to create the recipes and the cookies, as well as Eli Quinn, formerly of Flying Star, to help with the graphics.
